Vice Chancellor’s Profile

Assoc. Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi was born on 24th July 1969 and is married to Patience Rubabinda Mushengyezi. They have four children. Assoc. Prof. Mushengyezi accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour in 1980 and has served the church for decades in several positions such as; member of St. Francis Chapel Council, member of Fathers Union, Chairman of Kigezi-Ankole Anglican Youth Missioners etc.

He holds a BA (with First Class Honours), Makerere University, MA Makerere University and PhD, University of Connecticut, USA.

Prior to joining Uganda Christian University (UCU), Assoc. Prof. Mushengyezi was the Dean of the School of Languages, Literature and Communication, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Makerere University. He has held several administrative responsibilities which include; Head of the Department of Journalism and Communication at Makerere University, Chairman University Council, Africa Renewal University, Project Coordinator of Development Partnerships in Higher Education Project, Makerere University. He is an External Reviewer of Doctoral Dissertations for North-West University (Vaal Triangle Campus) in South Africa, an External Examiner of a number of universities including UCU and Addis Ababa University. He supervised doctoral and master’s students and won prestigious Post-Doctoral fellowships, research grants, consultancies and meritorious awards.

Assoc. Prof. Mushengyezi has authored and co-edited seven books and several academic articles in peer-reviewed journals and monographs.
